This time, we’re speaking with Mr. Ly Quoc Khanh, a Project Manager Assistant in the CDD (Client Work Development Department), about his experience at Allexceed Vietnam.

Could you tell us about your current responsibilities, Mr. Khanh?

As a Project Manager Assistant, my responsibilities cover a wide range, including coordinating requirements with clients, creating project plans, assigning tasks to the team, managing progress, and overseeing quality and schedule control.

I am currently assigned to two projects.
One is a web development project for a business system that handles tasks like customer management and payment requests. The other is a project to develop an application that collects car auction data from auction sites.

From Gaming to an Interest in Programming

What first sparked your interest in studying to become an engineer?
When I was in middle school, I was really into computers, especially video games.
At first, it was just about playing the games, but eventually, my interest shifted to the engineering side—how these complex game systems were created with technology.
I also always liked science-related subjects like math and physics, so I felt that programming was a good fit for me.

So, is that when you decided to become an engineer?

Yes.
When I was deciding on my career path, I researched the IT industry and found that it was very popular and in high demand.
I was confident that it was a field I was passionate about, had an aptitude for, and would continue to grow. So, I had no hesitation in choosing this path.

Gaining Internship Experience and Joining Allexceed Vietnam

What was your university life like?

I majored in Information Technology at university, where I systematically learned the knowledge and skills of software development.
I particularly focused on web programming and application programming.

I was determined to work in the IT industry, so I completed a three-month internship at an IT company in Vietnam while I was still a student. There, I was involved in developing desktop applications using C#, which gave me a valuable first taste of professional programming.

So, did you join Allexceed Vietnam as a new graduate right after university?

Yes. After graduation, I was comparing various companies on job sites, and I felt that Allexceed Vietnam was the best fit for me, so I decided to apply.

What specifically made you feel it was a good fit?

First was the career direction.

I felt that Allexceed Vietnam’s business, the systems they develop, and the type of people they were looking for perfectly matched the career path I envisioned for myself as an engineer.

Second was the fair evaluation system. I felt the salary structure was reasonable for the content and responsibilities of the work. For me, this balance was a major draw.

What specifically made you feel it was a good fit?

Although I had internship experience, it was my first time in a professional environment, so I was full of both excitement and anxiety when I joined.

However, as soon as I started working, I felt that the company’s open atmosphere and flexible work style suited me.
In particular, my seniors took the time to guide me carefully, even when they were busy, which helped me get used to the workplace quickly and tackle my tasks with confidence.

The Joy of Seeing My Creations Used by People

Now, let’s dive deeper into your work at Allexceed Vietnam.
Can you share any moments or experiences that made you feel rewarded or glad to be doing this job?

The most memorable experience was shortly after I joined Allexceed Vietnam. I was assigned to a project as an engineer, and for the first time, I saw clients actually using the software I had helped develop.
At that moment, I felt a great sense of joy and pride knowing that what I had created was useful to users and providing value.

It must be moving to see something you’ve built or been involved with being used.

Yes, exactly.
I had built systems before, but it was the first time I had the experience of seeing something I made actually being used by people, so it was a very moving experience.

Honing Communication Skills Through Problem-Solving

I’m sure you’ve faced challenges in your career.How did you overcome them?

I tried to find a solution, even if it meant taking small steps.
I made sure not to carry the burden alone, discussing issues with my team members and seeking advice from more experienced seniors.

By pooling our knowledge and discussing things together, we gradually found a way forward.
Persisting and finding solutions step-by-step ultimately led to my own learning and growth.

In what specific ways do you feel you’ve grown?

In terms of communication, I believe I’ve developed my active listening skills.
To understand the core of a problem and devise effective solutions as a team, you need to express your own opinions, but you also have to listen carefully.
Through various challenges, I came to realize and practice the importance of listening to the diverse opinions of team members while also sharing my own.

On a personal level, my approach to work has matured. Before taking action, I now think, “Is this really the best way?” or “Is there a more efficient method?”
I used to act without thinking that deeply, but I’ve come to understand that carefully considering the details beforehand actually leads to more efficient work.

All of these experiences have been incredibly helpful in my current role as a Project Manager Assistant.

So, your success as a Project Manager Assistant is built on the foundation of these experiences.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the dedicated guidance of my many seniors. They not only helped me with skills but also listened empathetically to my pressures and concerns.
It is because of their thorough support that I have the confidence to take on management responsibilities.

My own development wasn’t something I could have achieved alone.

Becoming a Full-Fledged Project Manager and Contributing to the Company’s Growth

What are your goals for the future?

Currently, I’m involved in the practical aspects of project management while receiving guidance and advice from my manager.
Through my daily work, I am learning a great deal, such as the know-how to smoothly run projects and how to deal with potential issues.
Building on this experience, I aim to become a full-fledged project manager who can independently manage and drive a project from the planning stage through to completion.
In the future, I hope to delve deeper into management as a Senior Project Manager and contribute to the overall growth of the company.

Are there any development fields you would like to challenge yourself with in the future?

I’m interested in the research and development of products that apply rapidly advancing AI technology.
I want to be involved in creating new value in this ever-evolving field and enhance my own technical skills.

I am also interested in the e-commerce sector, which holds great potential.
It’s a service that is familiar to many users, yet it constantly requires technological innovation to meet market needs. As a developer, I find that incredibly rewarding and appealing.
